WebKex would never work even disabling the new WSL2 feature with guiapplications=false in the .wslconfig file. sudo rm -rf /tmp/.X11-unix and after that kex -s worked again. I actually did this, removed the /tmp files and the .vnc/ files and it worked again after a reboot.
