Mean target coverage
WebFeb 9, 2024 · What does “coverage” mean? Although the meaning of the term “coverage” may seem very simple, this term is often misused. In the context of Next-Generation … WebThe default HsMetrics output reports a MEAN_TARGET_COVERAGE field, and the PerTargetCoverage optional file reports a mean_coverage field per target. Looking at these values, there seems to be a fairly large discrepancy - the majority of per-target mean_coverage values are much smaller than the MEAN_TARGET_COVERAGE.

WebApr 21, 2024 · The mean target coverage ranges from 727x to 879x. As shown in Fig 1A, a depth of coverage at 50x or more was reached for 87% of targeted regions and 60% of targeted regions received 500x or more coverage depth. The coverage on exonic regions of individual genes is illustrated in Fig 1B. WebJan 17, 2014 · Although the terms depth and coverage can be used interchangeably (as they are in this Review), coverage has also been used to denote the breadth of coverage of a target genome, which is... WebThe term “coverage” in NGS always describes a relation between sequence reads and a reference (e.g. a whole genome or al locus), unlike sequencing depth which describes a total read number (Fig. 1). It is very important to distinguish between them: Coverage in terms of redundancy: number of reads that align to, or "cover," a known reference.
WebSep 10, 2024 · Coverage is defined as the number of sample nucleotide bases sequence aligned to a specific locus in a reference genome. ... In this case, the mean coverage was 204 reads with a standard deviation of 22 reads. This is fairly high coverage with little variability across the entire reference genome. There are a few isolated peaks in …
